The Ladies Helm Event took place Sun 6th Sep last. The weather was very kind, between 5 and 8 miles per hour according to Pete’s new anemometer !
Seventeen ladies turned up for our 7th annual event. Clubs represented…SSBC, Malahide, Sutton and Clontarf.
The youngest was 7 and the oldest was………. Most ladies raced singly in Topaz, but we did have one mother/daughter team and a 9/10yr old team.
Six races were held lasting 10 to 15 mins.
Three groups were involved, which rotated between races. The best 9 went into the afternoon final.This consisted of the best of 3 races. Competition was tight at the top places.
Sharon Dwyer won the ‘Mermaid Trophy’, with Cliona Fitzpatrick (Malahide) winning ‘best visitor’. Many thanks to all who helped out.
A very enjoyable day was had by all and so we hope to repeat it again next year.
